Substantial Modification to Health and Wellness Coaching Program Description |
The Master of Arts in Health and Wellness Coaching will promote whole person, relationship-centered healthcare. Through discovery and exploration, we deliver progressive educational programs, advance innovative clinical models, built mutually beneficial partnerships, and provide opportunities for fulfilling careers.

The proposed revision of the program is designed to provide advanced coaching skills needed for the evolving professional field of health and wellness coaching and to prepare graduates for subsequent professional credentialing by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC).The revised program replaces 10.5 credits of non-coaching skills content with 7.5 credits of additional and advanced coaching skills coursework and 3 credits of research literacy coursework; this change eliminates the previous three areas for concentration in herbal studies, nutrition, and integrative health practices. In addition, a modified course scheduling plan will allow students to complete the revised program in five trimesters, instead of the six trimesters needed to complete its predecessor program.

Graduates not only help frame the healthcare options in the U.S. and abroad, but also are instrumental in encouraging people to switch to more natural lifestyle choices that improve their overall health and wellness.
|
