Hello, I’m Celina Aragon, a nursing student at Anne Arundel Community College.
My goal to have a career in nursing is sooo close thanks to the financial aid I receive. Without receiving a Pell grant and state aid, my dream would not be possible. I just couldn’t afford the cost to attend college without financial aid.
Luckily for me, during my senior year of high school, I met with my counselor, researched financial aid information, and contacted the admissions office and financial office at Anne Arundel Community College.
They were all great resources! It was also very important that I complete the FAFSA between January and March to meet deadlines, which I did. I was awarded a federal Pell grant and the Howard P. Rawlings Educational Assistance grant. Taking action to learn about financial aid has been so important in helping me achieve my dream of becoming a nurse.I’m looking forwarding to completing my nursing degree and starting my nursing career!

Hello, I’m Jamen King, an adult learner studying chemistry at the Community College of Baltimore County, often referred to as CCBC. Following the economy downturn and other personal reasons, I realized I needed new skills to overcome employment challenges.
So, I decided to apply at CCBC to further my education!
But, I knew I needed help to pay for college.
I met with representatives in the financial aid office at CCBC, and it has been one of the best decision’s I’ve made.
I learned about the FAFSA, state aid and other financial aid programs. I applied for financial aid and I was awarded a Pell grant and the Howard P. Rawlings Educational assistance grant.
Today, I attend college part-time and work part-time. I’m looking forward to completing my degree and securing meaningful employment with my new skills and education.
