College Preparation Intervention Program

COLLEGE PREPARATION INTERVENTION PROGRAM (CPIP)

Purpose: The College Preparation Intervention Program (CPIP) is a State grant program which supports Maryland’s college access and completion goals as defined in the State’s 2017-2021 State Plan for Postsecondary Education, and the College and Career Readiness and College Completion Act of 2013. CPIP funding provides financial support and fosters collaboration between Maryland’s high need local education agencies (LEA) and its higher education institutions to raise the level of academic preparedness of economically and environmentally disadvantaged students to enable them to attend, persist, and succeed in college.

Authorization: Annotated Code of Maryland, Education Article, Subtitle 7. College Preparation Intervention Program, §§ 11-701 through 11-705.

Target Population: ​Maryland middle and high school students grades 6-12.

Service Regions: Baltimore City,  Baltimore, Caroline, ​Prince George's, Somerset, and Wicomico Counties.

Eligibility: An accredited Maryland public or independent two- or four-year institution of higher education. Partnerships between a lead higher education institution and a non-profit organization are welcome to apply.

Project Period: June 16, 2023 - June 14, 2024
