SmartSAVE Scholarships

  • ​​Title: 2+2 Transfer Scholarship
    The 2+2 Transfer Scholarship is designed to assist and encourage transfer students from Maryland community colleges to attend a 4-year institution within the State. Students must be enrolled in an eligible accredited Maryland postsecondary institution.

  • Delegate Scholarship
    This scholarship is awarded by members of the Maryland General Assembly and is administrated by MHEC. You should contact your legislators, as soon as possible, for more information on specific application requirements and deadlines.

  • Senatorial Scholarship
    This scholarship is awarded by members of the Maryland General Assembly and is administrated by MHEC. You should contact your legislators, as soon as possible, for more information on specific application requirements and deadlines.

  • Graduate and Professional Scholarship Program
    This scholarship is available to eligible graduate and professional programs in dentistry, law, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, social work, and veterinary medicine.

  • Charles W. Riley Firefighter and Ambulance and Rescue Squad Member Scholarship Program
    The Program encourages members of the fire-fighting, ambulance, and rescue organizations serving Maryland communities to pursue credited courses that lead to a degree in fire service technology, emergency medical technology, fire service management, or public safety administration with a minor or concentration in fire service technology or fire service management.

  • Hal and Jo Cohen Graduate Nursing Faculty Scholarship
    (new applications and supporting documentation no longer being accepted)
    Funding for the Hal and Jo Cohen Graduate Nursing Faculty Scholarship will sunset and transition to another Nurse Support Program II grant program that focuses on tuition assistance for nurses committed to becoming a nursing educator.​

  • Edward T. and Mary A. Conroy Memorial Scholarship Program and Jean B. Cryor Memorial Scholarship Program
    This scholarship is for a family member of a United States Armed Forces individual who died as a result of military service or who suffered a service-connected disability as a result of military service.

  • Veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq Conflicts (VAIC) Scholarship
    The Veterans of the Afghanistan and Iraq Conflicts Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial assistance to United States armed forces personnel who served in the Afghanistan or Iraq conflicts and their sons, daughters, or spouses who are current high school seniors and/or full-time or part-time, degree-seeking undergraduate students enrolled in an eligible accredited Maryland postsecondary institution.
